My grandmother emailed me and asked me to make her some cards. One of the members from their congregation in CO is in the military and is in Iraq. She has been sending him lots of cards, and she makes many on her computer, but she wanted some different cards to send as well. These are two that I made for her to send. The pictures really don't look that great, but it's the best I have right now til I get my scanner hooked up to my computer...or learn to take better pictures of my cards.
For the top card I used scrap papers and ribbon, the image is from SU! Loads of Love, and the sentiment is a stampabilities stamp I got from HL. I used colored pencils and OMS to color the image. Oh, and the ink is stazon black.
The bottom card is made with some dp I got from the dollar store, and a stamp from SU! For Father (I just LOVE this set!!). The ribbon is American Crafts...got it from Target. The verse is a sticker I found at HL. I used colored pencils and OMS for this image as well. The ink is Stazon black and Tim Holtz distress ink Scattered straw.
These were fun to make! TFL!

Finally the move is complete, the house is on the market and we are all well...for now. :) So I finally am starting to have a little time to work on my hobbies! Yay! This card was made as a gift for somebody. I used the sketch from Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #08 found here:
http://lordhavemercy-mercykerin.blogspot.com/2008/05/mercys-tuesday-sketch-challenge-08.html

I just turned it on it's side and added a couple of things. I had some of my DCWV Nana's Nursery - Girl paper out because I had used some to make a set of thank yous for a friend that just had a baby, and I decided to try it with this sketch. I think it turned out cute!

All the paper is DCWV either Nana's Nursery - Girl or from the spring textured cardstock stack. I used colorbox chalk pink (can't remember exact name) ink, as well as a versamark green ink pad. The stamp is Stampabilities, the ribbon came off of a gift basket I got around Christmas time, and the pink "faux" dew drops are from Michaels.

I think I'm going to use this sketch some more! Such a great one! TFL!

Altered Tin

I have not decided for sure what to do with this yet. It is one of those things that I like so much that I don't know if I can give it away, but I don't know what I would do with it...Guess I'll have to do some thinking. It was originally intended to be a wedding gift - a recipe tin with some recipes from other friends in it, but the brides mother was already doing a recipe gift...so...that idea was out. I'm sure I'll figure something out.

The paper is Afternoon Tea by SU!, the hardware is the new hodgepodge silver from SU!s mini album. The ribbon is from HL.

I had a lot of fun making it! :) Thanks for looking!

Gift Ideas

These are little covered note pads. I found the note pads at the dollar store - 8 for a dollar I think. The paper used on them are from various places. The colorful striped paper is from Nana's Nursery (DCWV) The yellow striped paper is from the dollar spot at Target. The stamps are SU! Priceless and one of the hostess sets (I can't think of which one right now). The pens were from the Target dollar spot too (16 for a dollar!). The yellow ribbon is from the Michael's dollar bin...what else? Oh, the little "faux brads" are from the floral section in Michael's! I took two pictures of the first one because I couldn't get the lighting right...someday I'll figure it out! Thanks for looking!

Misc Cards

Hard to see all the details with the lighting in my dining room. Need to find a better way to take pictures, but I think at least you can get the idea of what the cards look like! Much prettier in person I promise! These are trial runs for a gift idea! Thanks for looking!

Girl Thank you cards

Here are two of my new cards I made for a friend to give to her sister-in-law that is having twin girls! I like the purple one better because of how I mounted the elephant, but I still love them both. Later I will put more info on how I made it. Right now I have lots of cleaning tod do around the house! (joy!) :)

I posted one of the cards twice so that you could be sure to see all of the details - specifically the thank you. These are cards I am making for a friend's baby gifts...I am really having fun with them! I think they are soooo cute!!! :)

This week's cards

Here are the cards I just made this evening. Several friends are sick, and two of the great-grandmother's are getting notes with pictures this week. The lighting is horrible in my craft room (sigh) but I really shouldn't complain. I will just have to find a new place to take my pictures. Now off to my Bible study and bed!

Cool Storage Idea

This is my new super cool toy! My Daddy found it for me at a local non-profit organization in Houston called NAM (http://www.namonline.org/). It was from an old dept store - to display costume jewelry on! It is AWESOME! We have a bunch of things that we are going to add to it, but for now I am using it to store a bunch of stuff that I want out of the little one's reach!! Now I'm on the lookout for stores that are closing and selling their fixtures and such! :)

Craft Area

Here are some pictures of my craft area in our guest bedroom. It is still a work in progress...hard to keep things neat and clean with a helpful 13 month old! I really like my area, but will be sad when we get our full size bed back from my parents because I won't have as much room. Oh well. At least I have a craft area, right?! :)
One side of my table is dedicated to my scrapbooking and the other to my other paper crafts. Tonight I finally made a board to put my cards and stuff up on! Like the Valentine from my baby?!

Baby Thank You

I will have to go and figure out who I go this idea from so I can post a link...but the little one is screaming right now :). I really like giraffes a lot! I have made several sets of these cards with different colors of ink and ribbon. It is very simple, but really cute for a baby shower gift! I used Blue Bayou for the ink. The ribbon is from the wedding section at Hobby Lobby, and the stamp set...is a clear set from HL. I will have to do some looking to find out what set it is...more later!

Another thank you card. This one was done using Nana's Kids by DCWV and the doggie die with the cuttlebug. I love how it turned out!

Thank you cards

Here are two of the thankyou cards I made for my son's first birthday. I really loved the thankyou cuttlebug embossing folder...and the orange ribbon. I am so glad that I was able to use it! Most of the paper was from Nana's nursery by DCWV (boy).
I made this card last week. I have been trying to do some of the card sketch challenges from SCS. This is one of them...I can't remember right off hand which one. I'll look it up later. I really like how this one turned out. These are some of my favorite colors. It is hard to see, but I stamped the sentiment twice with two different colors to make a shading effect.

This is a set I made for a friends birthday gift. The printed paper just reminded me of her! I really had fun making these. I think decorating the box was the hardest part. I just couldn't decide if I wanted a birthday sentiment on it or if I wanted it to match the card set. I finally decided to match the cards. That way it could be used for anything.

Here is the thank you card I did last night. I am really excited about it. I think I am going to make a set and a matching box to either sell or give as a gift. I really like the way it turned out. It is definetly one of my favorite cards right now!

Ok, so I was totally in a creative mood yesterday. Here is one of the projects I did during nap time. I decided I wanted to try one of the altered tins, and I was ready for something nicer than an index card box for my recipes, so this is what I came up with. It was tons of fun!

New Baby Cards

I made a set of each of these for two friends that are having little girls - actually one of them already had hers. I didn't get the chance to make a boxed set, because I didn't have enough time, but I was really happy with the way they turned out! They are definetly going in my design book! :)

Organizer

Ok, here is the new organizer I made for my ribbon. I got it from another lady...she had made one for her stampin up stamp pads, but I modified her design to put my ribbon in. Mine is kind of crooked and not as pretty looking as hers, but I love it! :)

http://rebelinker.blogspot.com/2007/10/inkpad-holder-for-6.html This is Stacey King's website - where I got the idea and the pattern. Thanks! :)

First Idea for David's Bday Invites

The first pic was taken with the flash. The second was without. This is my first attempt. I still am not sure what I am going to actually make the 1 with...
